The Cost of Your Ambitions

Ambitions aren’t free. They come at a price:

  • Your health
  • Your time
  • Your energy
  • Money
  • Your relationships

And whether you like it or not, the price is the sacrifice.

Sacrifice your health, and you’ll end up unhealthy and ill (even worse dead).

Sacrifice all your time, and you’ll end up ignoring your loved ones, or other activities you love, or things that matter to you.

Sacrifice all your energy, and you’ll end up feeling wasted every day.

Sacrifice majority of your money (or other people’s money), and you’ll end up waking up each day panicking, the stress is killing you inside.

Sacrifice your relationships, and you’ll end up alone and lonely and empty.

This is quite easy to understand: If you pour all your resources into one thing, you’ll lose all your resources.

But let’s say you did pour it all. Oh god. Congratulations.

You happy now?

I don’t know. All I know is that all your achievements are pointless if you don’t have someone or other people to share with. And yes, what’s the point of your ambitions if they only make you ill?

Whatever you want to achieve, don’t forget that there is more to life than your ambitions.

In the end, it’s all about knowing what truly matters to you.

Is it more money? Or your ambitions?

Or your well-being and your loved ones?

Go figure out.

“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things.” — Morrie Schwartz

Some interesting questions about life and human behavior: What if there's no money? Why we often feel the urge to prove that we're right and others are wrong? Why we react to things beyond our control? Why we hate? Why it's hard to be content? I don't have all the answers, do you? Let's chat.
