I’m Jade Panugan. I’m a writer and musician.
Like most people, I too, once followed the traditional pattern of society: Go to school → follow the rules → get a “real” job → buy stuff → and impress others.
I’d never questioned this life pattern until I started reading and researching how to live a meaningful life. Then one day, curiosity takes over:
- Why do humans follow the same traditional life pattern for the rest of their lives?
- Why is everyone trying to be rich? Why we keep buying unnecessary stuff? Why we compete?
- Why can’t we just focus on developing ourselves, cultivating wisdom, helping each other, and living a meaningful life?
- And why we need to conform? Why can’t we just be ourselves?
I don’t know. But I want to understand.
So I sought answers through reading books and blogs about psychology, philosophy, zen, spirituality, minimalism, self-improvement, creativity, productivity; and biographies of thinkers, artists, writers, philosophers, entrepreneurs, and change-makers.
I also learned a lot from different people. By discussing how they approach life and how they understand it, I discovered new perspectives and insights I could’ve never learned my own.
Since 2014, I keep reinventing myself and learning ways on how to live well.
This isn’t aiming perfection, but rather, a way to be a better human being.
On a side note: I couldn’t have started seeking answers had I not read the works of some writers, entrepreneurs, leaders, innovators, change-makers, and thinkers. These people have helped shift my perspective on life. I will always be thankful to them.
