Illusions and Barriers

All the great things you want to do can be done if only…

It’s just another excuse.

Because it’s always possible to start using whatever resources you have.

Start small. Do the process you already know.

Eliminate complexity. Simplify. Remove all the barriers.

Don’t worry. You can change things later. What matters is you start.

It’s The Voice that Wants to Protect Us

We complicate our lives by listening to a voice in our head — a voice that keeps whispering all these negative thoughts.

These thoughts then become barriers.

It’s not completely bad stuff. It’s a warning.

This voice wants to protect us from danger. It’s the same voice our ancestors listened to when they traversed an uncharted forest thousands of years ago: “There’s a tiger, run!”

For sure, that voice kept them safe and alive.

But obviously, there’s no tiger or any dangerous wild animal in modern homes, schools, or workplaces.

The “there’s a tiger, run!” is now an illusion, a barrier:

  • “You will fail because you’re not good enough.”
  • “Don’t even start. You’re already late, everyone has already started. You’ll surely fail.”
  • “You will never be the best at this because you lack talent.”
  • “If you fail at this, you might lose your job, you’ll end up homeless.”
  • “You can’t do that because you don’t have the money and education.”
  • “You don’t have the energy anymore. So it’s impossible to start.”

Sometimes it’s so strong it feels real.

But it’s not. It’s not real.

It just wants to protect us. Because that’s its job.

What to Do?

Here’s what you need to do every time you hear it:

Pause. Let it pass. Do nothing.

Yes. I mean it. Just do nothing, except acknowledging that it’s there.

Once you acknowledge it, just let it do its job. Don’t resist. Don’t analyze. Just let it pass.

Your only job is to understand that it’s not real, and it’s only temporary.

After a while, you’ll notice that it gradually stops. Little by little like bubbles slowly popping. Gone.

Then, as it might surprise you, you’ll feel a sudden lightness.

And without warning, clarity and peace arrive.

Don’t believe me yet. Try it for yourself.
