You can spend your whole life trying to impress others.
Convince them that you’re good at what you do.
“Look at me! I’m an ambitious person. A role model. I work hard.”
Doesn’t it feel good when you broadcast to others that you’re killing it and you’re defying the odds, and now you have momentum?
It surely feels good because you’re a human being who craves validation and acceptance.
However, most of us don’t stop there.
Most of us go beyond our seeking-validation-nature — we don’t just ask for attention, we also expect others to praise us. Or support us. Fund us.
I’m not judging you. I’m just assuming you did that at some point. I can relate. You’re not alone.
But what do you expect? Your family and friends can’t even understand themselves, let alone understand you.
When you expect others to support you — because you think you deserve it — you set yourself up for a huge… hugeeeee disappointment.
The only person who can completely understand you is you.
Pursue your dreams and do your own thing… while being the number 1 fan of yourself.
