His text messages were so negative. He blamed me that I was responsible for what happened.
I could have replied defending my side and insisted that it’s not my fault.
Yet, I remained silent.
(Yes I know what you’re thinking.)
It was frustrating. But I did try my best. I moved on and proceeded to my daily routine — work, write, and music.
A few days later, we’re OK. He realized he was wrong and he didn’t mean it.
What a relief.
But imagine if I did react and vent out my anger. Imagine if I replied with self-righteous messages.
Imagine if I said that he’s an idiot and he needed to stop being so dramatic or whatever.
But I did not. And that made a huge difference.
It’s crazy how we always react to others’ drama even though we know it won’t help the situation.
It’s better to ignore and move on.
Of course there will be instances where we need to respond and explain everything — maybe a life or death situation? That’s the exception.
But most of the time, our reactions aren’t necessary.
Acknowledge the anger (or any reactions), and then let go.
It’s not easy. And it takes a lot of practice. But it’s one way to stay sane and composed.
What I do is I try to understand that nobody’s perfect, and that some people couldn’t help themselves but fall into dramas. Therefore, no need to take things personally.

PS: I admit though that sometimes, well, I just can’t ignore it. There were some situations that I bursted out. Yes it happens.
