Change it, Leave it, Accept it

In almost every circumstance, we only have 3 choices:

  1. Change
  2. Leave
  3. Accept

If we can’t change it, then leave.

If we can’t leave, then change.

If we can’t change or leave, then accept whatever it is.

But we all know that changing or leaving may lead to consequences we might regret.

And accepting is easier said than done.

There’s no right or wrong way. Every situation is unique.

The best thing we can do is examine ourselves at the micro level.

Be alone. Reflect. See the situation from different perspectives.

Ask questions. Formulate solutions. Challenge the solutions.

  • Is this the life I really want for myself?
  • Can I do something about this?
  • Will there be consequences if I just leave and ignore?
  • What can I do with it using my current resources?

And even though we choose to change something, or leave something, or accept something, we’ll still wonder what could have happened had we chosen a different path.

There’s no guarantee that everything will be OK.

But we can learn from it.

“All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.” — Blaise Pascal
