Your Life Will Unfold Itself, Let it Be

Why do you keep thinking…

That there should be something in your life that is not?

Or that you should be in some other kind of life than the life you are in?

Or be somewhere instead of here?

But you are here. You are. This is your present.

Whatever your fantasies…

About how you think your life should be, there’s no guarantee it’ll happen your own way.

And not just you. None of us will ever know how our lives are meant to unfold.

Maybe you’re healthy today. But you might get sick in the coming days.

Maybe you’re excited to start your own business. But you might not succeed at first.

Yes you’re happy about your job right now. But you might lose interest next month. Or next week. Who knows.

You’ll never know what’s going to happen. You just can’t know.

And that’s why every time you fantasize about how your life should be… is a waste of time.

Worse, it could be a source of disappointment. Your expectations don’t meet reality.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t aim for the best or prepare for the future. Of course you should. Everyone should.

The point is to see that everything that has happened and is happening (or will happen) to you is all on purpose to get you to the place you are truly meant to be.

All your failures, mistakes, or faults are the pathways for you to learn and improve and get to new places.

Those quirks or shortcomings that you think are holding you back? They are there for a reason you have yet to figure out.

They’re all part of this rich, marvelous story — your life.

From that perspective, nothing is wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with your present.

Every little thing in your life is unfolding exactly as it should.

You are in your own playground to learn and experiment.

Detach from your ideals.

Let your life unfold as it should be.

“The whole process of nature is an integrated process of immense complexity, and it’s really impossible to tell whether anything that happens in it is good or bad — because you never know what will be the consequence of the misfortune; or, you never know what will be the consequences of good fortune.”Alan Watts
